Enbridge has announced plans to subdivide its $4 billion Sunrise expansion project for the Westcoast natural gas pipeline into four distinct segments. This strategic move is intended to facilitate the timely completion of the project by 2028. Construction of the project began in July and encompasses the addition of 139 kilometres of new pipeline loops, designed to enhance the overall capacity and efficiency of the pipeline infrastructure. The company has chosen OJB Energy Solutions from Alberta as the primary contractor responsible for managing the mainline construction work. As a part of this expansion, Enbridge aims to bolster the supply of natural gas in the region, which is critical for meeting both domestic demands and export opportunities.
