A group of twelve Jewish teachers has officially lodged human rights complaints against four Ontario school boards and two teachers' unions. The complaints were filed with the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal, alleging discrimination based on their Jewish identity. Among the school boards named in the complaints is the Toronto District School Board. The plaintiffs are seeking general damages of $150,000 each for the alleged discrimination, in addition to compensation for psychological counselling. As the allegations suggest a broader concern regarding antisemitism within the educational system, this case is seen as a significant topic of discussion regarding inclusivity and safety for Jewish educators in Ontario's public schools.
